Beach Tomorrow

I'm going to the beach tomorrow, and it's gonna be really fun! I'm going tomorrow (Thursday) and coming back next week on Friday. I hope it feels like I'm there forever, because when I get back, I have a few days, then school starts. And 7th grade is supposed to be the hardest year of middle school! As you know, I'm in 2 accel. classes, which makes it extremely hard! I'm going to Ventnot beach tomorrow with my cousins, Julia, Caroline, and 2-year-old Danny, then to Bethany beach with my cousins, Max, Jake, and Ben. At Ventnor, I loved to play with Danny, and when I was there with all of my cousins, he said, "I'm cold." So, to make him feel better, we tought him to touch his nose to get hotter, and his ears to get colder! It worked, we laughed, and he felt better! Then, since I haven't been to Bethany Beach all year, I'm REALLY excited! This year, my mom says we'll have more freedom since we live in this beach community called Sea Colony. We can walk to the fitness center, to get ice cream, play tennis, or whatever we want as long as we stick together with atleast one other cousin! It's gonna be soooo fun! We'll take a ferry between Ventnor and Bethany Beach, since they're VERY far away from each other. We'll leave Ventnor in the morning, eat snacks and maybe lunch on the ferry, then have dinner in Bethany Beach! I like the Ventnor beach better, because there's no jellyfish (mostly), good shells, and cute fish that we like to collect, but I like the Bethany Beach community better. Oh yeah, and then there's Funland. Its on the awesome boardwalk in Rehobeth Beach, which is right next to Bethany. It has awesome rides, and this year, Jake and I are finally alloud to ride this big upside down thing. We'd usually be able to, but are parents get 2 worried watching us. My cousins at Ventnor just got a new beach house, and its HUGE! The basement has a HUMONGOUS movie theatre screen TV! Its amazing! At Bethany Beach, there's this restaurant called Phillips. Its actually in Maryland, but we always drive to it. Its my favorite!!! Its an all you can eat buffet with THE BEST food. There's a great variety! So, I'm starting to pack tonight, and sooo excited for both beaches! Hopefully my drive to Ventnor tomorrow isn't nearly as long as our first drive! (It took 4 hours, when we wanted it to be 3 hours!) So excited! Bye for now!

Orthodontist

I went to the Orthodontist for the 1st time 2day for my consultation. Rachel was there at the same time!!! It turns out that instead of 1 year like I thought, I'm getting braces for 18 months! (1 and a half years) That's because I apparently have a large overbite! Gr.... Its cool wen I get braces, cuz I'll get a lot of attention, but I don't want those stupid rubber bands in the back 2 correct my bite! You have to replace them a lot, like at school and stuff AND they fall out sometimes, and that's REALLY annoying! I should know since my friend Elizabeth had them.

Yummy BBQ Dinner

I had a yummy dinner 2nite:
- BBQ chicken with 2 different sauces: honey pepper and a spicy 1 i can't remember the name of
- DELICIOUS homemade french fries
- cooked carrots and broccoli- good veggies!
- hot dogs fresh off the grill
- strawberry rubharb pie we're gonna have 4 dessert!

Sachel Camel Beach Trip

Sachel took a very fun camel beach water park trip yeseterday! it was awesome! we went on really fun slides! Some of our favorites were:
the black pitched-black light-up swervy slide,
the 4-person big slide
the toilet bowl!
The toilet bowl is so fun! You go down a slide and then go round and round a big bowl, then go in the little hole and splash in a ton of water!
other attractions we did were:
bumper boats. we waited SO long for a 5 minute term of driving a really hard boat. it was still fun, tho bcuz it was funny.
chair lift: we had 2 hold our flipflops so they wouldn't fall off, we went up this HUGE hill and then stopped at the bathroom, then went back down! REALLY FUN!

Home from camp/stage fighting!

Hi every1! I got home from the awesomest camp in the world yesterday morning and am back 2 posting! Since I got home, I've been going to a theatre camp at Front And Center. 2day, my favorite lesson was stage fighting!

Target and Five Guys

Yesterday night, while my brother was at my cousin Ben's baseball game, my mom and I went to Target. We bought some basic camp stuff like boxes and storage organizers, a tooth brush, water, etc. Then, my aunt texted my mom and said they were going to Five Guys. Since my mom and I were just standing around, (I was enjoying a small blue raspberry Icee from and employee at their food stand. Though it was closed, the guy heard my talking about how I wanted one, and opened it up for me! YAY!) ANYWAY, since Five Guys was like, 2 minutes away, we met my cousins and my brother there. (That's when I had the fries.) I love the Five Guys peanuts! Yum! That was the last time I saw my cousins before camp. The picture below symbolizes SLEEP away camp. Get it? Haha. Corny, I know. But its all I got. K?

Pool and Sammy

My family went to the pool today, and I had a lot of fun playing with my brother! At the snack bar, I got fries, and then realized that I had fries last night and my mom was mad. (Whoops!) Later, I saw my friend Sammy and we talked about camp. She's leaving tomorrow. Remember bloggers, I leave on TUESDAY!!

Straight A's

I got straight A's for final grades on my report card. YAY!!! :) That means I'll be in accelerated LAR and Math! I sent a bunch of people an email about this, and I spelled accelerated "excelerated!" LOL! My cousin Max replied and said, "Thank goodness there wasn’t an option to be in accelerated spelling… it’s spelled accelerated" Grrrr....that made me angry. It was funny though, because I was talking about how I got into accel, and spelled the word wrong! (LOL, nerdy grammar joke, srry)

I don't have an ipod, but I have an mp3. Every summer right before I head off to camp, I delete all the terrible songs and load on some new ones. I started doing that yesterday, and came across a 13 minute monologue from Fiddler On The Roof called Tevye's monologue. (That's why I named my fireflies Tevye and Monologue). While in the car on the way home, we listened to Ben's ipod touch. We played name that song and artist. It was fun. Then we went home. I did some more on deleting dumb songs and loading on new ones today. :)

Fireflies (Steve)

After we ate, some people wet home, and my mom took me, David, and Ben to the playground. We played a little bit, and also realized that Ben is really bad at swinging. Then, we ran around for 5 minutes and caught fireflies. Ben named his Steve. Steve would never leave him. We almost brought Steve into the car, but my mom wouldn't let us. I named mine Tevye and Monologue. I'll tell you why in my next post.

PS My brother just yelled at me because apparently the firefly's name was Steven! NOT Steve! Gosh, I didn't know. :(

Old Fashioned Restaurant

Yesterday with my cousins, we went out to dinner to an old fashioned diner-like ice cream restaurant. I had a burger, crinkle-cut fries, and two scoops of coffee chip ice cream in an old fashioned glass with whipped cream and hot fudge! YUM! Everyone in our family had coffee chip except for very odd Ben who just had to be different and have mint chip.

TIGS interview

We got interviewed today for the TIGS peer leader group a my school. I hope I get in for next year! My application form was well written, and though it was hard to get many words in in the group interview, the things that I said were very important. I won't get my hopes up because 68 people tried out and 16 can get in. AHH!

AND, she had a killer rabbit that tried to choke her to death! Jake Hallaway, the BIGGEST actor of her generation films a movie at her school and she makes friends with him! Rory gets a cell phone and a lame IM screen name. (Rory) But, she's excited to finally get these things. She almost got contacts that made her eyes green to brown, but they didn't work. Friday Night Services

Rachel and I went to services last night at our temple. It was fun. The after-service food was amazing! There was decorative brownies with fudge, chocolate and white chocolate chips on top, black and white cookies, and cookies with sprinkles...yum! Afterwards, my brother, Rachel and I made up a different version of Patty Cake! I started typing it, but then my brother yelled at me for sharing it with the world, even though I only have 15 followers.

Pie and I were dating, then we got married, then we got a divorce. Then, all my friends at the wedding and I ate him. Then, was dating cupcakes. But, I realized that cupcakes' sprinkles were too sweet. He was always too nice. I wanted pie back. So, I started dating Pie's brother, and found out my friend, Lily was also dating him. I was very mad at him, so I stole Lily's other boyfriend, Pie's cousin. Lily was left with no one, and now I have a VERY awesome boyfriend.

New career!

As of yesterday I am a babysitter! I babysit the Posts. There are 2 twin Kindergarten girls named Charlotte and Georgia. There so cute! I never got to babysit them, but on Sunday, I met them and entertained them for an hour and fifteen minutes! It was awesome!

Passover Explanation (really cool) :)

For those of you who don't know, Passover is a holiday where the Jewish people join together and remember the years in Egypt that Jews were treated very poorly by their Pharaoh. He was very mean, and the Jews were slaves of him. The Pharaoh had 2 sons. One of their names was Moses or Moyse or Moshe. He was actually born to Jewish slaves. But, Pharaoh made a rule that every first born baby of a Jewish family must be killed because Pharaoh didn't want there to be too many Jews. Moses'smart mother sent Moses down the river in a basket to save him. Pharaoh's daughter found Moses and brought him to Pharaoh. Moses and his sort-of-brother were raised as princes. Moses knew he was Jewish. People think that either his mother found him and told him or he saw it in hieroglyphics. Moses saw a slave-master beating a slave for doing something wrong. Moses couldn't stand it. He killed the slave-master. Then, his father and brother were very disappointed at him and were very disapproving. After that, Moses felt unsafe around these people, so he ran away. While he was out alone in the desert, god spoke to him from a burning bush. He told Moses to go tell the Pharaoh, "Let my people go." Moses told him he couldn't because he was slow of speech. (He burnt his mouth when younger...different story). God told Moses to do it anyway. Moses told Pharaoh that, but Pharaoh didn't listen. Then, god had 10 plagues sent over Egypt. God told Moses to tell the Jews to mark their doors with lamb's blood so the angels sending the plagues would pass over their houses. After the last plague, death of the first born boy, Pharaoh agreed to let the Jews go. They left, but Pharaoh changed his mind. He sent his army after them. The Jews had to stop at the red sea because they can't just cross a sea. But, god told Moses to raise his staff and put it into the ground. Moses did that, and the red sea split. The Jews crossed, and it closed up just in time for the Pharaoh and his army to get a cross. Pharaoh and his army ended up dying. We celebrate Passover to remember the times of hardship that the Jews had. We can't eat anything raised with yeast for 8 days. (It's really hard)! (but really fun)!

in fourth grade, we had a science fair, and i did it w/ 2 friends. our question was: how do dogs react differently w/ other dogs?

Nintendogs and Nah-Jee-Wah

Hey everyone! I have nintendogs, and had 2 dogs, Snoball the male husky and Lucy the female beagle. I just won a bunch of frisbe compentitions w/ Snoball and finally got enough money to get a new dog. I went to the kennel and picked out a golden retriever. She is a girl. I named her Cookie. She is so cute!



Above is a picture of my friend mira's dog. she went to a sleep-away camp called nah-jee-wah with me. Last year was both of our 3rd summers. The picture below is of a water gun fight at Nah-Jee-Wah. We have them every Friday.

i am currently reading: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. It is about a girl named Anne who was adopted b Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. They wanted a boy, but the orphanage gave them a girl by mistake. Anne has a best friend named Diana Barry who has a strict mother. It is a funny and heartwarming story about an orphan girl growing up on Prince Edward Island in the early 1900s. What are you reading?

Bobsled course

my neighbors have a huge hill for a driveway, so they made a bobsled course! it goes all the way from the top of their drive-way to the middle of their also huge backyard!!! It goes sooo fast! They called over a lot of people to ride it! There were 4 sleds: 2 really fast orange ones, a too fat blue one, and a red one that always fell over. We tried to stick to the orange ones. My neighbor and I went on the red one for the first time together and I fell on her, then we tried again, and she fell on me! What a day! Also, a UPS driver got out of his truck, just to try our bobsled course! He got the record for the fastest time to get half-way down! My neighbor Mackenzie got the record for going the fastest all the way down! It was soooo fun!!!

The Stony Hill Players drew a full house on Friday night for the first of six sold-out performances of "Annie," the classic Broadway musical.

"They did a great job for their first night!" said Jayne Myers, the director of the show and mother of one of its cast members. "I'm proud of these kids."

The all-child cast is comprised of local aspiring actors who range in age from 9 to 14. Cast members vary from those without any previous theater experience to performers who have acted at other community theaters, performing arts centers, in school plays, and even some TV spots.

"I see some future stars right now," commented one of last night's audience members during intermission.

Annie is the heartwarming story of an ambitious orphan who has the unique opportunity to spend the Christmas holiday with a billionaire named Oliver Warbucks. An unlikely friendship grows between the two and soon "Daddy Warbucks" finds himself heading a search to find Annie's real parents.

"Jayne and I had talked about this probably around last June or so… She wanted to do a musical for us and she thought about several but she really thought this was the one she wanted to do," said Randy Parker, the show's producer and sound designer.

From the technical side of the production, one of the most challenging aspects of this show is that it was double cast, explained Myers and Cindy Jung, the show's choreographer.

This decision was partly due to Myers' fear of the swine flu, but it additionally allowed for a larger number of kids to get involved.

"We had 150 auditioners and had to turn down 60. That was the hardest part," said Myers.

As a result, select principal roles are to be played by different actors on different days. "Cast A" is scheduled to star on January 29 and 31 and February 6, while "Cast B" takes the show on January 30 and February 5 and 7.

One cast member who is not double cast is Annie's shaggy dog Sandy, played by a 9-year-old mixed-breed pooch of the same name.

Sandy was adopted from St. Hubert's Animal Center as a puppy and has since made several acting and modeling appearances, including a previous role in "Annie" at Madison Junior School.

Twelve-year-old Hannah Skoken played the show's title lead on Friday night. She teamed up with Sandy the dog in Act One for the optimistic song "Tomorrow," which brought a huge round of applause.

"It's amazing! It's incredible!" said Skoken of her current role. "It's what I love and it kind of was always my dream role. Everybody said I would work as Annie because I have the red hair."

"My dad, he's an actor," the curly-haired rising star who hails from Bedminster said. "So I kind of grew up listening to show tunes and dancing, singing, and acting,"

Skoken drew a standing ovation from the audience at the close of the Friday night performance.

Although the "Annie" cast includes actors from Mountainside, New Providence, Far Hills, Berkeley Heights, and Short Hills, it certainly has its share of Summit stars.

Matt Mahoney, who plays Oliver Warbucks in Cast A, is a freshman at Summit High School and is performing in Annie alongside his 8-year-old sister, Grace, who plays one of Annie's fellow orphans.

"There're great role models in all the leads so a lot of the younger kids look up to the older kids," said Matt of the group dynamic.

By the end of the night, the audience had laughed out loud at the miserable Miss Hannigan, played by Kyra Morling in Friday's cast, cheered for the heroine and her friends, and had been invited to sing along during the familiar chorus of "Tomorrow" as the lyrics magically appeared on the center stage wall.

"It was great!" said one audience member who had traveled with her goddaughter from Bridgewater to see the production. "It was so well-done for a local community theater. They really did a fantastic job."

"What's so amazing," Jung said, "is that tomorrow's performance is going to be just as good as this one."

Happy Martin Luther King Long Weekend

What's everybody doing this weekend? Yesterday, I had a playdate with 4 people. it was a late night type of thing. we had pizza and played the wii and boardgames. My favorite part of it was... EVERYTHING! We had chips and pretzels and cookies! On the wii, we played Wii Music, Wii Resort, and Hannah Montana Concert World Tour. The games we played were Uno, and Apples to Apples. We ate pizza, Fritos, Doritos Cool Ranch, Barbeque Potato Chips, Pretzels, Carrots, and M&M cookies. We drank sprite and water.

It was fun.
